Prayagraj Division of Indian Railways Takes Strict Measures Against Corruption and Negligence
The Commercial Department of the Prayagraj Division has taken stringent steps against corruption and negligence in duty, resulting in disciplinary action against 154 employees. Out of these, 143 have been penalized, and proceedings are ongoing against 11 employees.
Prayagraj Division is committed to providing transparent and improved passenger amenities. To ensure this, awareness campaigns are conducted, surprise inspections are carried out by officials, and periodic checks are organized. All complaints from passengers are thoroughly investigated, and strict action is taken against employees found guilty.
Under the guidance of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Prayagraj, Mr. Himanshu Shukla, various inspection campaigns and complaint resolutions have led to disciplinary actions against 154 employees during the fiscal year 2023-24. This includes 75 cases registered by the Vigilance Department and 79 by the Commercial Department.
In the fiscal year 2023-24, the Vigilance Department’s 75 cases comprised 43 related to ticket checking, 10 to parcels, 12 to ticket reservations, 3 to goods, and 7 to negligence in duty. Out of these, 66 individuals were penalized as per regulations, and proceedings are ongoing against 9 employees.
Similarly, the Commercial Department registered 79 cases, with 42 related to ticket checking, 9 to parcels, 12 to ticket reservations, 3 to goods, and 13 to negligence in duty. Here, 77 individuals faced action and were penalized according to the rules, while proceedings are ongoing against 2 employees.
