3 DAY CONFERENCE ON CLIMATE CHANGE HELD IN GENEVA

The Global Forum for Policy and Strategy (GFPS) organized a conference last week in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss climate change and strategies for mitigating its impact. The three-day conference brought together top climate experts and policymakers from  around the globe to explore ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of climate change.

Participants at the conference shared their experiences, discussed new technologies, and policy solutions to address the challenge of climate change. They emphasized the need for more ambitious actions from governments, businesses, and individuals to reduce the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere and transition to low-carbon economies.

The conference highlighted the urgency of action needed to tackle climate change, with recent reports warning of rising temperatures, sea-level rise, and increasing extreme weather events. Participants stressed the importance of scaling up climate finance and technology transfer, particularly to developing countries to help them cope with the impacts of climate change, which they are most vulnerable to.

The conference also discussed the role of international climate agreements, such as the Paris Agreement, in providing a framework for global action against climate change. Participants acknowledged that while international agreements are crucial, it is essential for national governments to take practical action to reduce carbon emissions and to build more resilient societies.

“The conference undoubtedly brought together some of the brightest minds in climate change and innovation. It was evident from the discussions that more needs to be done, and urgent action is required to mitigate the effects of climate change. As the world gets alarmingly closer to global warming, many hope that the conference will spur governments and businesses to take more aggressive and effective steps towards a cleaner, healthier planet”
