This time Modi tsunami will win over 400 seats: BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain

BJP National spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain today hit out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi for choosing to contest from Wayanad in Kerala.

In a sarcastic tone he said, “The entire country wants to know as to why Rahul Gandhi is scared of Amethi. There is a big research going on in the nation over Rahul’s seat selection. The Congress president talks about his concern for South but if that was the reason then why didn’t this concern come to his mind before. Why at the time of elections?”

He further added that Rahul Gandhi had betrayed the people of Amethi and that the people will never trust him again.

Shahnawaz Hussain was in Mumbai on his three day Maharashtra tour. The leader contended that just like 2014 there was a Modi tsunami in the country and the BJP along with its allies was set to win more than 400 seats. “Abki baar 400 ke paar,” He said

Earlier today Congress leader Anand Sharma had alleged that the BJP government had spent crores in political propaganda and that the BJP as a party had become the biggest advertisers.

Replying to this statement the BJP leader said, “Janta ka khoon chusne wali sarkar is scared of us. What’s stopping them from spending money. We don’t use ill gotten money like them.” He elaborated that BJP was only using the donation money for the campaign exercise.

When India Today TV asked Shahnawaz Hussain about the opposition labeling PM Modi as the ruiner of democratic institutions and that in his campaign in Maharashtra Modi didn’t pay attention to issues like farm crisis and unemployment, Hussain said the opposition had no issues to talk about and hence were indulging in levelling baseless allegations.

Shahnawaz also hit out at the Congress-NCP alliance. “They were waiting to see the BJP-Sena fight but that didn’t happen. We have an alliance now with Shiv Sena. Congress-NCP alliance will not get any seat. Supriya Sule can say anything but NCP won’t get any seat.”

When asked why Kirit Somaya wasn’t given a ticket despite him having a good hold in his constituency, Shahnawaz Hussain said there were many able leaders who were fighting for the party not in their capacity as a candidate but as a true party workers.

“There wasn’t any pressure from anyone on the choice of candidate for the Mumbai North East seat. It was party’s decision. I have known Kirit Somaya for a very long time. He will be working whole heartedly for the party. I am also not contesting this time but will be fighting as a true worker to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister once again.”

On actress turned politician Urmila Matondkar, Shahnawaz Hussain said BJP candidate from Mumbai North Gopal Shetty was sure to win.

“I don’t want to say anything on her but she was first into acting and now she is in Congress. So let the Congress do what they want it doesn’t affect us.”

Shahnawaz Hussain will be travelling to Uttarakhand after his Maharashtra campaign.
